Perata Vineyards

PERATA VINEYARDS
ESTABLISHED 1948
The first vines ever planted in the Napa Valley were planted here, in Yountville, by George C. Yount, in 1836. Today, it is recognized as one of the best winegrowing regions in the world. Yountville has been called “the combination of all that is possible in the Napa Valley….” due to the unique combination of soils and climate here. The official AVA (American Viticultural Area) status was in 1999.

The wines are all Estate grown with this 3rd generation of the Perata Family. The 4th generation, Nicholas, had his 2nd birthday May 7, 2012. Over the past 62 years this land has had many agricultural products, from row crops, apricots, Black Mission Figs, walnuts to growing livestock. And of course grapes, until the release of the 2005 vintage all grapes were sold to high profile wineries in Napa Valley.
They have two wines, Estate Yountville Reserve with a limited production of approximately 250 cases per vintage. The production of Franks Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, so named for Frank Perata, Nicholas Grandfather who still lives on the property and walks the vineyards everyday, is approximately 1500 cases per vintage. The balance of the harvest is still sold to other wineries for their premium labels.

Some of their vineyard neighbors are Gemstone, Paraduxx, Pina Cellars Wolfe Vineyards, Kapcsandy, Carmen Policy and Monticello Vineyards Yountville Cabernet.
